Day 4 of refugee status....
Not that being quarantined with friends in Sydney is so great a hardship. Awake to check news reports that say that Qantas is still not flying to Europe.
Keeping fingers crossed that our rescheduled flight for April 27 will take off before we are granted Aussie resident status. Email girls' teachers to see if there is any work they can be getting on with and jump on a harbour ferry to take in some more of the city's sights.
Check out Market City, Chinatown and the Chinese Garden of Tranquility - an oasis of calm amidst the city's buzz.
Spot an inquisitive turtle swimming amongst the koi carp and water dragons foraging for food in the tea house. Jump on the free city circular bus and stop off at the Museum of Sydney to catch up on the country's convict history.
The journey back from Circular Quay at dusk is stunning with the setting sun on the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge - sights I expected to see just once but which have now become quite commonplace.
Homework starts pouring in and kids start procrastinating. Catch Australia's Got Talent (or not) and a Christmas edition of QI before an early night. Plans are afoot for a trip to the Blue Mountains.. . . .
