CHILDREN at The Oaks Primary in Ellesmere Port have been busy creating vegetable plots and flower beds in the school garden.

The Youth Federation, based in Rossmore, received funding from Children in Need to deliver healthy living after-school projects.

Project leader Kate Evans contacted The Oaks at the beginning of the year offering to work with a group of young people over a three-month period.

The school was delighted to receive support and selected a group of pupils to take part.

Kate said: “It is great for the Youth Federation to be given the opportunity to work with and support local children and young people.

“The project at The Oaks Primary School is vital in developing skills to educate the children about healthy living and working together.”

The Youth Federation is a children and young persons charity supporting youth work in Cheshire, Halton, Warrington and Wirral.
