A DAD-OF-TWO accused of drugs, firearms and illegal money-lending offences has been remanded in custody for a week by magistrates after a fresh charge of assault.
Craig Batin, 38, was arrested on suspicion of making a threat to kill at about 10.30pm on Saturday near his home at Dart Walk, Winsford.
He was later charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was kept in custody by JPs at Northwich Magistrates Court after a hearing on Monday. No plea was entered.
He will now spend seven nights on remand before reappearing at Northwich on Monday, April 6.
Batin is already facing accusations of loan sharking following a joint investigation by police and Trading Standards officers in September to tackle illegal money-lending in Winsford.
He is also charged with possession of a firearm and possession of amphetamine, a class B drug.
He is expected to enter pleas to all charges at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday, April 14.
A 24-year-old man from Northwich and a 15-year-old schoolboy from Winsford, arrested along with Batin on Saturday night, were released on bail pending further enquiries.
