SHOPPERS in Asda supermarket in Ellesmere Port were given advice and information about how to deal with the credit crunch.
Staff and volunteers from West Cheshire Credit Union were in store to encourage people to join up and start putting money away for the future.
Customers were able to look at the PayPoint card which allows members to pay in money at post offices and shops.
West Cheshire Credit Union is keen to ensure people look to them before more expensive lending options such as hire purchase, doorstep lenders or loan sharks.
Ellesmere Port and Neston Credit Union merged with its Chester counterpart to form West Cheshire Credit Union in January.
Membership is open to anyone who lives or works within the boundaries of the West Cheshire and Chester Council area.
