STAFF at a Cheshire housing Trust are ‘tweeting’ with their customers and colleagues to boost interaction and involvement within the body.
Weaver Vale Housing Trust is using the social networking site Twitter to keep staff and customers up to date on community news and events they can get involved in, as well as giving them the chance to post comments and offer feedback on community matters.
Set up and regularly updated by trust neighbourhood development officer Juliet Aitken and communications officer Lucy Goldsmith, it is hoped using Twitter will encourage the younger generation of customers to get involved with the trust’s activities.
Juliet said: “Twitter is an extremely popular phenomenon at the moment and we identified it as an ideal way to engage our customers in trust activities, events and to gather feedback.
“We already have a group on Facebook, which is working well as an interactive way of reaching customers and staff. We felt using Twitter would be another quick and easy way for people to have their say and get involved in shaping the future of the trust.
“Now we hope we can start to reach a new group of customers; the possibilities are endless for us”.
