THREE people, including an eight-year-old boy, had to be cut from a car after a collision on the bypass at Hartford on Friday afternoon.
The A556 was closed and diversions set up following the crash at 3.45pm, and the male driver of a Peugeot 106 was treated for head injuries at Leighton Hospital.
He and his two passengers, the schoolboy and a 17-year-old male, were freed from the wreckage by firefighters, but the younger pair were unhurt, as was the female driver of a Ford Focus.
The collision occurred on the Manchester- bound carriageway. Witnesses can call 01244 613163.
