A WREXHAM tree surgeon has turned from wood to pumpkins for the spooky season.
Simon O’Rouke, who usually creates art out of wood, carved what is thought to be the largest pumpkin in the region into a scary face for a village restaurant.
Chris Baker, who owns Christiano’s Italian restaurant in Tarporley, bought the huge pumpkin as a novelty Hallowe’en feature and commissioned the wood carver to create the face.
Chris said: “It’s fantastic we are really pleased with the end result, it makes a great feature for the restaurant and will hopefully get people to pop in and have a look.
“There was pumpkin juice flying everywhere when he carved and it bought a huge crowd to watch the face emerge.”
Chris organised the spooky feature to promote his new early menu.
He said: “I hope people enjoy looking at our new feature, and I would like to thank Simon for his wonderful work.”
