'UNSUNG hero' Geraint Parry has paid tribute to the Wrexham fans who kept the club ticking over across the summer.
Secretary Parry, who was awarded a special gong for his work behind the scenes at last season's supporters' bash, was taken aback with what he saw in pre-season.
Firstly, the Wrexham Supporters Trust agreed to donate a monthly sum of £3,000 to help pay for the players' wages.
And then, after the sudden announcement that Liverpool would be visiting the Racecourse for a money-spinning friendly, Dragons fans came out in their droves to make sure the ground was in top condition for the date.
Parry said: 'Everything that has gone on has been very encouraging.
'The financial support we get from the Wrexham Supporters Trust is invaluable - it's really helping the club funnel its way forward.
'And the help has not just been financial - it's been practical as well. 'We've had people coming in and painting the ground, manning the phones, working in the ticket office - everything a club needs in pre-season but something we've not been able to afford.'
Parry is confident Wrexham will be in the hands of new owners soon. But he says even when they do move out of administration, he'll do everything in his power to keep the bond between club and supporter strong.
He said: 'We're all hopeful we'll get a positive resolution over the future of the club in the not-too-distant future.
'But once everything is sorted, we don't want it to be a case of 'thanks for your help, but now we're all right'. We've made some positive moves forward in our relationship over the summer and we want that to continue.'
Meanwhile, the offers on Wrexham season tickets are still ongoing.
'Early Bird' prices remain open; the Wrexham Supporters Trust are giving every junior season ticket holder a free replica home shirt; and family tickets are available for all the seated areas on both sides of the ground.
As the club cannot accept credit or debit card payments, fans can either pay for their season tickets in full or in three instalments by cheque.
Wrexham look in line to beat last season's total of 1,055 season tickets sold. As the Mail was going to press, sales had just crept over the 1,000 mark.
