WALES rugby coach Warren Gatland has made an appearance at Wrexham Rugby Club.

He presented the Under 15s and U16s teams with their new Army-sponsored kit and to pass on tips to the local teams.

Warren Gatland answered 50 questions from the junior teams at the start of their new season, before helping Colour Sgt Ian Sanger from the Army Careers Office in Rhyl to present them with their new kit, emblazoned with the Army slogan ‘Be the Best’.

Colour Sgt Sanger plays for the senior team at Wrexham Rugby Club and has formerly helped to coach the U15s team.

He said: “It is very important to us at the Army Careers Office to support our community – and a big part of the community here is the junior rugby teams.

“We want to wish the U15s and U16s the best of luck in the season and we are looking forward to support them.”

Kevin Powell, who coaches the U16s, added: “We are really grateful to the Army for their support. Having the new kit for the team is fantastic and having it presented to us by Warren Gatland really was the icing on the cake.”
