A ST DAVID’S DAY concert will be held at Whitby Sports and Social Club to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation.
Birkenhead Lions Club is hosting the event on Friday, March 1, which will feature entertainment by Rhos Orpheus Male Voice Choir, Wallasey Choir and soloists Sophie, Clare and Rachel Burnett.
The first day of March was chosen in remembrance of the death of Saint David. Tradition holds that he died on that day in 589.
The date was declared a national day of celebration within Wales in the 18th century.
Doors open at 7.30pm and tickets are £7.50, which includes light refreshments.
