MORE than 240 tonnes of liquid concrete was slopped onto a metal frame to create the base of Winsford’s brand new £10.8m Lifestyle Centre this week.
The pour marked the start of the main construction of the multi-purpose hall, which will replace the existing Winsford Sports Complex and Civic Hall.
The 71-week project, which should be completed by the nd of April, will involve the construction of a 4,442m², two-storey building which will provide a leisure and entertainment facility for the whole community.
“The thick 150mm concrete plinth will form the base of the hall at the Lifestyle Centre,” said Tom Williams, project manager for developer Morgan Ashurst.
“We’re creating the base in one block to give it the greatest possible structural strength.
