A SOCIAL landlord is offering free training courses for tenants in Ellesmere Port.
Riverside has joined forces with West Cheshire College to offer introductory courses in subjects ranging from first aid, money management, maths and English, employment skills, computing, safeguarding children, childcare, advice and guidance, as well as creative writing, illustration, arts and recycled crafts.
The courses are designed to equip tenants with valuable skills for the workplace or further education.
Jayne Branch-Murray, community engagement officer for Riverside, said: “Finding work can be harder than some people imagine, and the longer you’re out of work the more difficult it can be. The crucial thing is taking that first step and our training programmes can point people in the right direction.”
Riverside is also providing support for people who are unsure about taking the first steps towards learning new skills.
Jayne Branch-Murray added: “The aim is for our tenants to learn alongside neighbours, family and friends, whether they want to return to work, enhance skills, improve job prospects, or are retired and looking for a new hobby.”
