THE sister of a woman murdered in the July 7 London bombings was present at the unveiling of a permanent memorial to the victims in London’s Hyde Park.

Andrea Watson, of Rossett, was thinking of her only sibling, Fiona Stevenson, 29, a solicitor, who was killed in Aldgate.

Andrea, a personnel officer for Wrexham County Borough Council, was with her husband Ian and parents Ivan and Emer, from Essex.

The memorial marks the 52 people who died and hundreds who were injured when four suicide bombers detonated bombs at separate locations in 2005.

The memorial consists of 52 stainless steel pillars, each 3.5m (11.5ft) tall, grouped to represent the four attacks. Members of the bereaved families group have said it is a “fitting tribute”.
