YEAR 4 and 5 youngsters from a Northwich primary school will be clued up on road safety this summer after an awareness campaign led by Cheshire West and Chester Council.

During the summer term children at Victoria Road Primary School took part in a ‘Let’s Walk’ scheme pioneered by the authority’s road safety unit.

“They have all had great fun and looked very smart in their high visibility jackets, which were sponsored by local companies Lock-Tec and Vital Signs,” said a school spokeswoman.

“At Victoria Road we believe it is important for all children to have an awareness of road safety, and to understand the dangers that both quiet and busy roads present.”
