THE new team in charge of Winsford and Middlewich Rotary Club are assured of a busy few months with 60th anniversary celebrations taking precedent.
The anniversary will be celebrated at a Diamond Jubilee Charter Ball on November 15, with any proceeds going to Breast Cancer Care.
New president Ron Attley has been married for 40 years, has two grown up sons and enjoys breeding and showing pedigree Persian cats. He works for Gen Ex Design Ltd of Tarporley.
Treats for the troops
RESIDENTS at Northwich’s Queen Elizabeth House have been busy boosting morale by collecting treats for British troops based in Afghanistan.
The appeal, which was set up in May, initially aimed to collect enough items from the people of Merseyside and Cheshire to fill 50 shoe boxes for the forces in Afghanistan, but the scheme has gone on to collect enough to fill a staggering 2,000 boxes.
Family night date
WINSFORD Liberal Club is holding a family night for members on Saturday from 7-10pm.
