SCIENCE whizz-kids at Ellesmere Port primary schools got interactive at workshops on the subject.

Organised by the Shell Education Service, which creates and runs workshops designed to support the National Curriculum, staff from Shell went to 24 primary schools across Ellesmere Port to teach fun and engaging science workshops to the children.

The workshops, which were tailored for a range of ages, saw youngsters engaging with science by testing and racing miniature balloon buggies to fun chemistry experiments.

Sarah Langford, one of the workshop leaders, said: “Our week of workshops has been a real success, they are a great way to encourage children of all ages to explore and question science in a fun, hands-on way.

“The response has been brilliant and the children have really engaged with the challenges we’ve set them.

“Getting children interested and enjoying science at an early age is very important.”

The Shell Education Service also supported the STEM festival in Ellesmere last month, running workshops for 600 pupils aged nine and 10.
