KIND-HEARTED bobbies handed over more than 60 Easter eggs to The Big Egg Appeal launched by local radio station Wirral’s Buzz FM.
Officers at Ellesmere Port police station donated money in order to buy eggs for children who wouldn’t normally receive one.
They will go to charities, voluntary groups, children’s homes and wards, social services and refuges across the Wirral.
PC Matt Hull of the Community Action Team (CAT), who helped organise the collection, said: “I think the egg appeal is a brilliant idea which helps to bring a smile to children’s faces.
“Everyone at the station was happy to chip in to help make Easter that little bit egg-stra special for them!
“We managed to collect enough money to buy 63 eggs to put towards the appeal which was a great result. I wasn’t expecting to be able to get as many as we did.”
