THE Pennyfarthing Folk Club reunion takes place on Saturday at the National Waterways Museum, Ellesmere Port.
The club opened with a crescendo of folks songs on November 15, 1969.
Russ Dumbill, Les Jones, Grant Dawson, Andy Chrimes, Keith Glazzard and a host of others resided at The Travellers Rest on Ledsham Road, Little Sutton, and welcomed the best names from the folk world while Bob Tomlinson guarded the door.
Crowds of Ellesmere Port people passed through the Travellers and had a great time.
Harry Charters was the landlord and put people at ease with his sardonic sense of humour.
For one night only, 40 years on, the club will reunite with Andy, Russ, Les, Keith and about 20 other singers welcoming old friends.
Local sporting stalwart and song collector Mike Burton will be taking part.
The event runs from 8pm-late. Tickets are £5, contact Russ DumHill on 0151 339 6604. All proceeds go toward The Canal Trust.
