DOZENS of residents turned out at Neston Civic Hall on Thursday to meet the new team running their local health services.

West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group held the first in a series of open forums to talk about their plans for the NHS and invite questions from the 50 locals who attended.

Topics discussed included the Clinical Commissioning Group’s five-year strategy to meet future challenges by working with Cheshire West and Chester Council, partner organisations and residents.

West Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group chairman Dr Huw Charles-Jones thanked people for attending the meeting.

Local GP Dr Claire Westmoreland said: “We are exploring the opportunities for creating a ‘citizen’s panel’ which will be far-reaching and integrated with our work and we want to hear from people from different age groups, different ethnic backgrounds, rural and city dwellers who want to be a part of that.”

People interested in taking part are invited to e-mail the Clinical Commissioning Group at

A similar meeting will take place in Ellesmere Port on November 8.
