A NEW campaign urging people to ‘dress up and cut the fat’ has been launched in Ellesmere Port.

Eating excessive amounts of saturated fats is one of the biggest risk factors for heart disease and stroke, according to the charity Heart of Mersey (HoM).

They are supporting the Food Standards Agency’s latest warnings about saturated fats with a novel Dressing Up campaign in Merseyside and Cheshire.

Ellesmere Port resident Michelle Cowell was among the visitors to the Links Healthy Living Centre when the initiative was promoted in the town. She was shown how to ‘dress up’ salads without using fat-laden ingredients and invited to send a healthy personal message on mini menu postcards to a friend or family member.
