A LEDSHAM-BASED crash repair group has launched a mobile service for motorists who prefer to have their tyres checked, repaired or changed at home or at work.
Howard Basford’s Specialist Tyre Service offers customers an arranged visit from its fully equipped mobile unit and a highly trained tyre technician capable of solving a wide range of problems on the spot.
The service has already attracted a large number of callouts from women drivers who prefer to have the work done at home rather than having to take their vehicle to tyre centres.
Managing director Neil Kirk said: “This is a service aimed at offering our customers the convenience of having their tyres repaired or changed at the location that best suits them.
“Rather than taking time out of their busy schedule to travel to a traditional tyre depot, we will come to them, whether to their home or their place of work.
“The service does seem to appeal to women motorists who may not relish the thought of spending time in a tyre centre. Having our fully equipped van visit them at their home or workplace means they can get on with their lives and leave the repair to our technician.”

Team in line for award
CHESHIRE West and Chester Council’s revenues and benefits team has reached the final of a national award weeks after being presented with a separate honour.
The team is in the spotlight for the ‘nearly flawless’ joining of the revenues and benefits ICT systems of the county council and Chester City, Vale Royal and Ellesmere Port and Neston councils in time for the implementation of the new authority on April 1.
The result of the E-Government National Awards will be announced on January 20 and the team has been included in the final seven in the ‘Local e-Government excellence: Team’ category.
