MILLIE the canal boat is on her way home.

The Rotary Club of Wrexham is using Millie to cruise to London and back, raising money to mark 100 years of the club.

The canal boat was donated by the Llangollen Canal Boat Trust and along the journey the Rotary Club is collecting donations from other Rotarians which will be given to the club.

In return Millie has been taking disabled people nominated by those Rotary Clubs on day trips at each stop she has made.

Along the way the crew had a number of challenges.

They had to deliver cocoa beans to Cadbury's Bournville factory, where they were given chocolate for themselves and a chocolate wedding present for Prince Charles and his new wife Camilla.

They travelled through the West Midlands and to London via Oxford and delivered the gifts plus a card from the International Musical Eisteddfod for the couple to a royal representative.

Now they are heading for Milton Keynes and on to Atherstone as they follow the canal system up into the Potteries and Cheshire before making the return to Llangollen.

It's estimated the journey will finish on Friday, May 20.
