VISITORS from the newly formed Skills Funding Agency (SFA) have made their first tour of West Cheshire College’s Ellesmere Port campus.
The £65m development of the Regent Street site, as well as the Chester campus, is well under way.
It will provide state-of-the-art learning facilities for students as well as providing the public with access to restaurants, cafes, a theatre, a fitness suite, shops and events space.
The Ellesmere Port site is expected to be ready by September 2011.
Principal Sara Mogel said: “I’m constantly amazed by the speed at which everything is suddenly taking place.
“We are very grateful to the SFA, and their predecessors the Learning and Skills Council, for their assistance in the funding of this ambitious project.”
SFA capital director Phil Head said: “It’s great to see such fantastic progress on such an inspiring building.
“It makes a really important statement for the locality and the college about the importance of training and skills.”
