MAYOR of Wrexham, Aled Roberts, is breaking with tradition this year and instead of holding a second Charity Ball he will host a red-hot curry night at the Stiwt in Rhos.
Top Welsh chef, Dai Davies, will be cooking the curry and there will be entertainment from Dawnswyr Delyn, a local folk dancing group.
Cllr Roberts said: 'This year we wanted to move away from tradition and try something different in order to raise money for our nominated charities.
'My wife, Llinos, and I have met some wonderful people during our mayoral year and we think this is an opportunity to meet lots more.'
He added: 'The night will be informal and we hope as many people as possible will buy tickets and join us for what promises to be a very enjoyable and entertaining evening.'
The event takes place on Saturday, March 13, beginning at 7pm. Tickets cost £12 and proceeds will be donated to the mayor's charities, Nightingale House and Hope House Hospices, Wrexham Maelor Hospital's Samaritan Ward and Dynamic. Tickets are available from the mayor's secretary, Guildhall, Wrexham, who can be contacted on 01978 292276.
