CORONATION Street’s male stars donned skirts and dresses to show their support for a hospice charity event.

It’s usually an event for the ladies, but this year The Hospice of the Good Shepherd’s Starlight Walk, which consists of a six-mile trek around Chester city centre, will be a little different, with men able to join in the fun – as long as they dress up in drag.

Men will be given a wig and sash ahead of the walk, which will start at from the Northgate Arena on September 8 at 11pm.

The challenge is open to men and women of all ages and fitness levels, to help raise funds for the hospice.

Hospice patron and Coronation Street star Ian Puleston-Davies, who plays Owen in the soap, said:

“Myself and some of the other cast members had a really good laugh dressing up to support the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

“I would encourage the local community to get behind this event as I am sure you are in for a great night whether it’s in high heels or trainers,” he added.

“The hospice is a charity close to my heart and I know it means a lot to so many people”.

Entry fee is £10 per walker, which includes a Starlight T-shirt for women, a wig and sash for men, and a medal and midnight snack pack on completion of the walk.
