MACMILLAN Cancer Support workers have been given a glamorous makeover at M&S Cheshire Oaks to thank them for their hard work.

The women, based at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, were treated to a new outfit and make up at M&S Cheshire Oaks as part of celebrations ahead of the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.

Macmillan clinical nurse specialists Ann Griffiths and Mhairi Hawkes, Macmillan health care assistant Michelle Wrigley and Macmillan cancer information and support manager Sharon Winsborrow received their makeovers to thank them for their hard work helping cancer sufferers in the region.

Ann Griffiths, Macmillan palliative care clinical nurse specialist, said: “It has been lovely to have our makeover at M&S Cheshire Oaks. It’s a real treat and we are all loving our brand new looks.”

The M&S Café at M&S Cheshire Oaks is hosting a coffee morning for the charity on Friday.

Activities include children’s entertainment and a ‘Cheshire Oaks Gets Baking’ competition with a £250 M&S gift card up for grabs for the tastiest cake.

Ellesmere Port mayor Pat Merrick will attend and Chester town crier David Mitchell will lend his talents to declare the morning ‘open’.

Hilary Wilkinson, M&S Cheshire Oaks store manager, said: “Through working with the charity we have been exposed to the fantastic work that the charity does in the community and we wanted to recognise that by treating some of the local team to a makeover in store.

“We hope to raise as much money as possible for this fantastic cause and hope to see lots of our new customers at the event on the 28th.”
