A DANCE school is appealing for the public’s help to offer more to its students.
Louise Fitzgerald has run Stars Dance Academy in Thelwall Road Community Centre, Great Sutton, for eight years, teaching ballet, tap, modern theatre and jazz to children of all ages.
But as her business grows and more children join her class, space is becoming increasingly limited and Louise is keen to find a bigger venue to enable her to keep teaching youngsters dance.
She said: “Our school offers a place where they can be themselves away from everyday pressures.
“Any form of activity or exercise will improve fitness and confidence in a child, and my school also offers exams, competitions and shows that give kids experience of performing in front of others, which is a great life skill that will always stay with them.
“Unfortunately, though, the hall I use is getting too small to offer all I wish to.”
She added: “I would like to have a youth club feel to the school so the children can come even if they have no classes.
“Lots of parents struggle to keep their children dancing due to the financial situation but we feel we’re very accommodating and charge just £2 a class, let fees be paid over a spread period and offering discount to siblings.
“We’re really keen for funding through sponsorship to locate a new venue. We are trying but it is such a struggle.”
