BURTON and Puddington Mothers’ Union has celebrated its 100th birthday.
The group enjoyed a special Deanery Festival service in St Nicholas’ Church, Burton.
The service was attended by members from across the deanery and began with a procession of banners from the various parishes. Following the service there was a celebration tea in Gladstone Village Hall.
One of the members, Peggy Walker, who is 100 years old in July, was invited as a special guest to cut the centenary cake.
The branch will be continuing its centenary celebrations throughout the year.
