PEOPLE who need support to face health-related problems have a chance to meet members of the Wales NHS watchdog service.

On Tuesday members of Clwyd CHC (Community Health Council) will be out and about to meet the public and explain how they can work for patients' benefit.

Les Booth, patient advocate for Clwyd CHC, said: 'Many people require help and support to express their concerns about the treatment they have received from the NHS. This is something we are happy to get involved with.'

Gill Isted, a recently appointed member of Clwyd CHC, which comprises representatives from Wrexham, Flintshire and Denbighshire, said: 'Having experienced myself the expertise of the CHC in helping to solve problems successfully, I am delighted now to be in a position to help others.

'I know what it's like to fight NHS bureaucracy - not easy - but, with the help of the CHC, it can be achieved, with positive and lasting results.'

On Tuesday members of the public can meet CHC representatives to discuss their problems and raise any matters of concern in the knowledge these issues will be followed up, with confidentiality guaranteed.

CHC members will be at the following venues between 10am and 4pm:

Flintshire - Mold Community Hospital and the Daniel Owen Centre.

Denbighshire - Glan Clwyd Hospital and the White Rose Shopping Centre, Rhyl.

Wrexham - Maelor Hospital and Chirk Community Hospital.
