PARENTS joined pupils and teachers at an Ellesmere Port special school to celebrate outstanding Ofsted results.

A party was held at Hinderton School, a primary special school for pupils with autism and speech, language and communication difficulties, to celebrate the fourth consecutive outstanding report following an inspection in March.

A celebratory cake was baked for the event by parent Michelle Cobb and as a treat the youngsters were all allowed to have a free ice cream from an ice cream van.

The report stated that Hinderton was ‘a dynamic and outward-looking school that is recognised in the local authority for its expertise in the area of autism.’

It also mentioned the school’s exceptional success in teaching pupils how to communicate their thoughts, feelings and needs in a positive way, reducing their anxiety and enabling them to focus much better in lessons.

Hinderton headteacher Liam Dowling said: “We had a wonderful afternoon celebrating our fantastic report with pupils, parents, carers and governors.

“We are tremendously proud of our fourth consecutive outstanding Ofsted inspection, as it shows that we have continued to innovate and improve the service we offer our children and families.”
