A ‘fantastic’ Helsby Beer Festival once again proved to be a crowd-pleaser.
The bar at Helsby Community Sports Club was stocked with 20 delicious draught craft beers along with ciders and perries to delight drinkers across March 4-5.
Weaver Vale MP Graham Evans saluted the effort which had gone in to organising the seventh annual festival.
Mr Evans said: “It was fantastic to see the people of Helsby coming together to enjoy a pint.
“I praise the hard work and dedication that has gone in from the organisers and sponsors to put on this beer festival and I certainly hope it won’t be the last.”
Live music was provided by local duo Acoustic Juice on Friday and Short Back and Sides on Saturday.
Co-organiser Jimmy Walker said: “I’m pleased with the support of all the committee members in putting together the weekend programme and obtaining the varied and wide range of speciality beers on offer.”
Proceeds raised from the event will be used to support the sports club.
Cheshire West and Chester councillor Alan McKie: “This is an excellent example of club members providing an event in the community to support and raise funds to ensure the continuation of the Helsby Community Sports Club until our new sports complex is available.”
