CHILDREN are being encouraged to get active during the upcoming half term break by trying out new activities.
Sir John Deane’s College Leisure Centre is running a series of fun sports camps and taster sessions - offering youngsters the chance to try a sport they might not have played before, or to improve their skills in ones they have.
Sports on offer throughout the week will include badminton, basketball, circuit training, tennis and football.
The camps and taster sessions will take place as follows:
Tennis camps on Tuesday, May 26 (for children aged five- eight years) and Wednesday, May 27 (for children aged nine-12).
Circuit training taster sessions on Tuesday and Thursday May 26 and 28 from 5-6pm (children aged 10-11).
Junior badminton on Thursday, May 28 (children aged seven-12).
Basketball taster session on Thursday, May 28 (children aged nine-12).
Football camp on Friday, May 29 (children aged eight-12 years).
The camps and taster sessions (excluding circuit training) will run between 9am-4pm unless stated, and participants will also get the chance to enjoy a free swim.
