BRYANT Homes has won planning approval for 202 new homes in Cambridge Road, Ellesmere Port.

The development, to be officially known as Great Hall Park, will be on the site of the former McAlpine plant hire yard.

Land restoration work has already begun and it is expected the first homes will be released for sale in the coming months.

The new homes will be in a range of designs, including two-bedroom apartments, three-bedroom mews style homes and four-bedroom detached family properties.

Fifty-one of the homes are designated as affordable properties.

Due to the wide mix of house designs available, Bryant Homes, part of Taylor Wimpey, says it expects the development to appeal right across the board of househunters, from first-time buyers to mature families.

Regional sales manager Melanie Whelan said: “Great Hall Park will bring a first-class range of new homes to the area, all benefiting from Bryant Homes’ typically high build standards and attractive design.

“It will bring much-needed new properties to the area, helping many types of customer, including first time buyers, to secure a new home; and it furthers our ongoing commitment to the development of brownfield sites.”

As a result of the development, the area will benefit from off-site and on-site public open spaces, various highways improvements and contributions towards the Mersey Forest project.
