POLICE are continuing enquiries into incidents of concern involving children being approached.
At about 7.30pm on Tuesday, May 19, concern was raised regarding three males in a red convertible car on Kirstal Avenue, Chester.
They had approached an eight-year-old child and briefly spoke with him. The child has been spoken to by detectives and further information received from the parents of the child has reduced concerns the police have.
Later the same week, a man in a black Vauxhall Corsa spoke to two 16-year-old girls on Alnwick Drive, Ellesmere Port. The girls refused the offer of a lift from the man after speaking with him and no attempt was made to coerce them into the car.
The driver has since been traced and interviewed, initial enquiries suggest this incident is not of serious concern to the police.
Last Friday, May 21, a 12-year-old girl reported that a male in a blue Ford Mondeo had waved at her from his car on Woodacre Road, Ellesmere Port.
The male has been traced and interviewed, his reason for being in the area has proved to be genuine and it would appear that the wave was misinterpreted by the child who has been spoken to at length by police.
