FUNDING to boost the rural community across Wrexham has been announced by the Minister for Rural Affairs, Elin Jones.
The overarching Rural Development Plan funding, worth £3.6m over the next three years, will support projects across Wales which diversify the rural economy, support the creation and development of micro-enterprises and encourage tourism activities.
Projects supported in Wrexham range from Wrexham Rural Business Grant to The Erlas Garden Sustainability Project and Environmental Improvements for Holt Village.
Eighteen Local Partnerships in Wales submitted funding applications for projects demonstrating contributions to the aims of the Rural Development Plan.
These projects were then approved by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Alongside diversification the plan aims to improve basic services in rural areas, conserve and upgrade the rural heritage and trial innovative processes.
