CONCERN is growing for a 63-year-old man from Ellesmere Port who has been missing for a week.
Cheshire police are appealing to the public to help them track down Anthony Lewis, who was last seen at his home in Whitby on Thursday, July 5.
Mr Lewis’s silver BMW, with the registration number R92 LFM, was spotted by a police automatic number plate recognition detector travelling into North Wales on the A55 the same day.
Mr Lewis, who lives with his mother on Woodsome Drive, is 5ft 8in tall, wears glasses, is of slim build and has grey hair. He was last seen wearing a navy-blue shirt and jeans.
Operational Support Unit inspector Richard Hill said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Anthony’s welfare.
“His lack of contact with his family is totally out of character and I would ask anyone who may have seen him or his car over the last couple of days to come forward and contact us.
“I would also ask Anthony himself, if he is reading this appeal, to make contact with us using the 101 number or by calling into the nearest police station.”
Mr Lewis is not believed to have any money or bank cards in his possession.
Cheshire police spokeswoman Shelley Williams said: “We are very keen to speak to anyone who has been in contact with Mr Lewis since Thursday.”
North Wales Police is helping Cheshire Constabulary with its enquiries.
