A WOMAN from Ellesmere Port has pleaded guilty to three offences of benefit fraud amounting to £7,500.
Victoria Ann Fitzgerald, 31, of Doune Court, admitted three offences of failing to report changes in her circumstances in order to claim housing and council tax benefit and jobseeker’s allowance.
Chester Magistrates Court heard she failed to declare earnings when she began employment and was overpaid benefit totalling £7,500.
The court sentenced Miss Fitzgerald to a community order and 60 hours unpaid work.
She is also required to fully repay the overpaid benefit to Cheshire West and Chester Council and the Department for Work and Pensions.
