A WEB solutions specialist in Ellesmere Port has armed engineers at the UK’s leading cleaning machinery repair and maintenance company with the latest iPad technology.
TecServ UK is piloting the cutting edge tablet computer during the next three months with a view to rolling out the technology to all its engineers if it proves as successful as the company hopes it will.
The decision to trial the iPad with its engineers was taken after consulting closely with Ellesmere Port-based MSoft.
Until now, TecServ engineers have been issued with laptop computers, but the company believes the iPad has the potential to transform the working practices of its highly trained team.
Neil Patterson, sales and operations director at MSoft, said: “Through our ongoing relationship with TecServ we were aware that their engineers had issues with the traditional laptop and recommended that they pilot the iPad and the leading edge technology it offers.
“Their engineers are extremely busy out in the field moving from job to job and every minute matters. The system we have developed for TecServ allows the company to conduct all their planning, maintenance and repair work right the way through to generating the invoice to go off to the client.
Graham Stevens, commercial director based at TecServ UK’s head office in Peterborough, said: “We have been looking at a number of alternative devices including the iPad and are delighted that MSoft has been able to develop the iPad so that it has all the capability our engineers need to carry out their jobs as efficiently and proactively as possible.
“Using the iPad enables the engineers to complete jobs on site ensuring everything they do is in real time rather than after the event.”
