AN ELLESMERE Port nursery school has received a national award for its commitment to the health and well-being of its staff.

The Little Acorns Nursery Group, based in Stanlaw Abbey Children’s Centre, Ellesmere Port, was commended for its contribution to the welfare of its employees, by receiving a Simplyhealth Healthy Workplace award.

Provided by healthcare provider Simplyhealth, the Healthy Workplace awards recognise the contribution that UK organisations in both the private and public sector make to the well-being of employees.

Winners of the award provide employees with a range of initiatives and benefits that help to keep their workforce motivated and healthy.

Linda Irlam, human resource manager of the Little Acorns Group, said they were ‘delighted’ to have won the award.

“We pride ourselves on the staff we employ and their contribution to giving outstanding care to all the children in our care,” she said.

“Our staff can enjoy the benefits that Simplyhealth provide at a very low cost to ourselves and the assurance it gives us with the peace of mind that you are insured for the basic health treatments that are required.”

James Glover, of Simplyhealth, said: “We run this award scheme because we want to recognise and encourage companies to care about the health of their people.

“We believe companies can make a positive contribution to the health of our nation so congratulations to the Little Acorns Group on achieving the Simplyhealth Healthy Workplace status and demonstrating that the health and well-being of its employees is fundamental.”
