THE next meeting of the Ellesmere Port Local and Family History Society will be held at the National Waterways Museum on Tuesday, October 16, in the Tom Rolt Conference Centre.

The talk will be a showcase by a member of Cheshire Archives on some of the more unusual and obscure sources held at the Cheshire Record Office which can help people with their family history research.

These include the sources available that have the potential to create a more rounded picture of your ancestors and their lives, and establishing links between different generations of a family.

You will learn of the records that are available at the archives that will tell you more about the employment, health, crimes and property of an ancestor.

Doors open at 7pm and the meeting begins at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome, including visitors at a cost of £3. Refreshments will be available.
