MORE roadworks are set to cause delays for motorists travelling in or out of Wrexham town centre.

Redrow Homes begins work on a housing and business estate on Croesnewydd Road and Ruthin Road on Monday, March 6. This work will continuing for 18 weeks crating a 'tidal' one-way traffic flow system.

The tidal system will work as follows: between 7am and 1pm traffic will only be able to travel along the road from the A525 Ruthin Road up Croesnewydd Road towards Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Outbound traffic coming from the Bradley Road end of Croesnewydd Road will be diverted past B&Q and along the A483 Wrexham Bypass.

Only the section of Croesnewydd Road that links Ruthin Road and the roundabout is affected by the new traffic controls.

Between 1pm and 7am traffic will only be allowed to travel down Croesnewydd Road from Wrexham Maelor Hospital towards the Ruthin Road.

In-bound traffic will be diverted along the A483 Wrexham Bypass and past B&Q.

Between 4pm and 6pm there will be manually operated temporary traffic signals at the junction of the Ruthin Road and Croesnewydd Road.

While the works are ongoing there will be a 30mph speed restriction in operation along the whole length of Croesnewydd Road and the current 30mph speed limit on the A525 Ruthin Road will be extended to beyond the junction with Croesnewydd Road.
