THE Countess of Chester Hospital has an isolation ward ready to deal with any cases of swine flu.
Gaynor Hales, director of nursing, quality and environment, said: “The Trust has a flu plan in place and is working closely with NHS Western Cheshire, the Health Protection Agency and the Department of Health to ensure that these plans can be put into action if necessary.”
She added: “We expect members of the public will contact their GP by telephone, to seek advice.
“Anyone who has recently travelled to the affected areas and is experiencing flu-like illness should stay at home and seek advice by phone from a local health professional or NHS Direct.”
NHS Direct is on 0845 4647 or www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk
