NIGHTINGALE House has received donations of more than £3,000 due to the success of two concerts.
The first event, at Wrexham Memorial Hall, featured Brymbo Male Choir and Choral Variations with guest soloist Deborah Parry-Edwards and raised £1,273.
Brymbo Male Choir has been in existence for more than 50 years, while Choral Variations has been performing for just over 20 years.
Both choirs, based around Cefn Mawr and Acrefair, are always on the lookout for new choristers. Any readers who are interested in becoming involved with either choir can contact Alan Morris, Hon Secretary of Brymbo Male Choir, on 01978 352898 for a chat.
Nightingale House's own Winter Concert on November 12 in the William Aston Hall was a great success. It was attended by more than 500 people, and raised more than £2,000 for the hospice.
Menai Owen-Jones, the hospice's community fundraiser, said: 'We are extremely pleased with the success of the concert. We would like to thank all of the children and young people who gave great performances and also a big thank you to their teachers for their commitment, time and energy to help Nightingale House.
'Everyone enjoyed the evening very much and we must also thank Gavin Matthews for being such a great compere, the audience for attending, the Mayor and Mayoress of Wrexham and all the volunteers involved with the concert.'
