SIR John Deane’s College is running a series of computer courses for adult learners, starting next week
The Back to Work course starts next Wednesday – April 22 – and is designed for people who want to find employment but are worried they have been left behind by modern technology.
The five-week programme offers all the help people need to update their computing skills and give them the courage to return to work or study, or move on to more advanced computing skills.
The course costs £35 and will run every Wednesday from 4.45-6.45pm.
Also starting on April 22 is a course in Microsoft Word for those with sound basic skills and a thirst to learn more about computing.
Students will be taught how to create, format and present a range of documents, including making letterheaded documents and symbols.
The five-week course costs £35 and will run every Wednesday from 7.15-9.15pm.
The college’s 10-week Type Right programme starts on Monday, April 20, to help beginners find their way around a keyboard.
The basic keyboard familiarisation course will teach students how to touch type using all 10 fingers.
Sessions run every Monday from 7.15-9.15pm, and the total cost is £65.
