A GIG by top indie band Muse will be broadcast at an Ellesmere Port cinema.

Vue at the Coliseum is inviting fans to relive the concert on Tuesday (March 11) in both High Definition and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound.

Coinciding with the DVD release of Muse’s sell-out Wembley Stadium shows last summer, the concert film shows them performing in June to more than 135,000 fans.

The Cornish-based group can be seen playing against a backdrop of satellite dishes and antennas, two giant balloons and aerialists, all of which were illuminated by a huge video wall.

Expect to see many of their recent chart hits including Knights of Cydonia, Starlight, Super Massive Black Hole and Muse classics including Plug in Baby and Time is Running Out.

James Dobbin, head of sales at The Vue, said: “We were really excited when Warner Music first approached us about showing the gig on our sites because Muse are such an explosive, theatrical band that they suit the big screen, surround sound cinema experience.

“That combined with the Wembley backdrop should make it an incredible night out.”

A spokesman for Warner Music said: “Seeing it in High Definition and with surround sound should be the next best thing to actually being there.”

The Muse performance marks a continuation of Vue’s commitment to broadcasting alternative programming on its cinema screens.

Tickets are £10 and on sale now at www.myvue.com, by calling 08712 240240 or directly from the cinema.
