PUPILS of Greenbank Residential School had a chance to look at what lurks beneath on a pond dipping trip to Marshall’s Arm Nature Reserve organised by the borough council and officials at the reserve.
Information gleaned on the trip was later used in an art session with artist Ann Bridges to produce vibrant prints for an exhibition to mark the reserve’s 10th anniversary.
Earlier in the year Ann worked with children at Hartford Manor Primary School on a series of winter-themed prints.
Claire Connell, art co-ordinator at Greenbank, said: “This was a great opportunity for the children to get expert tuition about all the things living in the pond.
“Having the pond so close to school is fantastic and the combination of a lovely day and interesting finds inspired the children in their art.”
