TICKETS for the 2009 Chester Summer Music Festival have gone on sale.
A new box office has also been launched to make buying the tickets a much simpler and smoother process, allowing customers to book over the phone, in person or online.
The festival runs from July 2–18 and has a jam-packed programme, with something for everyone, with concerts in the evening and at lunch time.
Chester’s most beautiful venues will be used throughout the two weeks, from the cathedral to the intimacy of St Mary’s Centre.
The programme celebrates the voice and music written for the voice, with major choral concerts, a lunchtime programme and some unusual performances.
The festival will also celebrate some notable composer anniversaries: Purcell, Handel and Mendelssohn.
As well as the more traditional concerts other more challenging performances also feature, some with a ‘visual’ twist.
Chester Festivals director Tracy Lynnsaid: “With the support of the new box office booking tickets for the festival has never been easier and with the launch of our new website the whole programme can be seen online.”
For all ticket information please visit www.chesterfestivals.co.uk. The box office is in the Tourist Information Centre in Chester city centre, so customers can book tickets in person or call them on 0845 241 7868.
