CHESHIRE West and Chester Council is helping new parents stay green, as part of a new ‘Real Nappy’ incentive scheme.
New research carried out by Go Real, the Real Nappy Information Service, revealed that nearly 50% of women aged 18-45 would consider using real nappies if they were planning a baby.
The report, which was carried out in order to give up-to-date advice to local authorities on effective real nappy promotions, surveyed a sample of just under 2,000 people and found the vast majority of respondents believed Real Nappies to be a better environmental option.
This week, May 16-22, is Real Nappy Week, and in light of this, to give parents the opportunity to get on board with the scheme, Cheshire West and Chester Council is offering them one month free nappy laundry service worth £45 and a maximum of £25 cashback on reusable nappy purchases.
Go Real chief executive Jon Rolls said: “The research demonstrates a huge potential for growth in the Real Nappy market. The feedback also gives the industry some very clear indications of what is needed to help more parents use real nappies.
“There have been many product developments to address convenience and ease of use, so now we just need to increase product awareness.”
