PASSENGERS who have travelled the rails of Cheshire during the years are being asked to share their memories.

For 22 years hundreds of people have travelled the line between Chester and Manchester, enjoying watching the picturesque villages of Cheshire roll by from their compartment windows.

And now passengers are being asked to share their travelling memories and platform photos to form a nostalgic picture of Cheshire railway’s journey through the ages.

Members of The Mid Cheshire Rail Users Association (MCRUA) are hoping passengers who travelled on their steam specials or the diesel rail tours and the yearly scenic tour will share their experiences.

The MCRUA has set up a website documenting the trains trips, which first started in 1988 with a tour from Chester to Settle.

MCRUA chairman John Oates said: “We are not just for line-side photos but also photos of those on board enjoying the excursions.

“Many bring their own food and our trips become dining cars on the way home. They are a great reminder of those old fashion days when families used to go to the seaside.”
