FIREFIGHTERS had to release a casualty after a collision on the M53.

FIREFIGHTERS had to release a casualty after a collision on the M53.

The incident happened at 9.38pm yesterday (Monday) on the M53 southbound between Junction 9 (Station Road) and Junction 10 (Little Stanney).

Two fire engines from Ellesmere Port and one from Chester attended and discovered one person trapped.

They removed the roof of the vehicle to enable extrication of the casualty who was then handed over to paramedics.
